NCS Presents: Everyone's a Critic

By Rachel Benjamin and Suzanne Davis
Performed by the Nittany Christian School Middle School Drama Students under the direction of Mrs. Amy Green.

On the brink of a famous food critic’s first bite, the restaurant staff has a traitor in the kitchen. It’s up to the audience to help figure out who it is. This four-act play is perfect for exemplifying how the Body of Christ is made up of different abilities and talents.

"But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body.

The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” And the head cannot say to the feet, “I don’t need you!” On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the parts that lacked it, so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it."

1 Corinthians 12:18-27 NIV

Friends & Families,

We want to thank all for attending the performances of Everyone's a Critic. The students have worked many long hours to craft their performance. It's a blessing to teach these wonderful students and it brings great joy to work alongside them. The cast's humor and passion will come through each character they play, and everyone will enjoy seeing the characters come to life.

The parents here at NCS are amazing and show their children the godly testimony of working together. We would like to generously thank a few people who have gone above and beyond:

A heartfelt thanks to the Long and Knepper families for making the stage vibrant and attractive. It is beautiful and adds so much to the performance. Aden Wertz for programming all the mics and lights. Bailey Weaverling for being the sound director. Tiffany Weaver for setting up volunteers for tech week and the candy grams. Anne Yorks for the delicious concessions and Topher Yorks for videography. Lauren Walters for designing the print materials.

Jenn Long, for running around gathering props, costumes, setting up volunteer lists, and praying for us. The NCS Administration for doing an awesome job every day. Thank you to all the parents for providing meals, volunteering, praying, and making this show a success. From the bottom of my heart, everyone has been a huge blessing and vital in making everything come together.

Our play was about each of us playing our part. God has gifted each of us uniquely to fulfill a purpose to honor and glorify Him; may we be an example of using our talents in unity to further Christ's Kingdom.

May He be glorified,

Amy Green the NCS Middle School Drama Students
