Nittany Christian School is seeking a Middle School (6-8) History teacher who is a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, passionate about teaching, and able to integrate biblical principles into daily lessons. The successful candidate will be able to foster academic excellence and develop Christian character within students while collaborating with teachers, staff, and parents.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum & Instruction: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging history lessons at an age-appropriate and academically-rigorous level
Biblical Integration: Teach students to think critically and biblically about history and life in a supportive, faith-based classroom culture
Student Development: Foster critical thinking, historical analysis, and character growth
Assessment & Administrative: Maintain grade books, grade papers, and perform administrative and communication duties to staff, students, and parents
Collaboration: Work as part of the middle school team to support students' academic and spiritual development and help plan and carry out middle school activities and events
An ideal candidate would possess the following qualifications:
Faith: A devoted and mature follower of Jesus Christ involved in a Bible-believing church
Education: A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Education, History, or a related field
Experience: Demonstrated experience with teaching is preferred, specifically within a Christian school environment.
Comfortable with Google Classroom
Certification: Pennsylvania State or Association of Christian Schools International is preferred
Additional Responsibilities May Include:
Kindergarten & First Grade Computer: Teach our youngest students to become familiar with the operation and application of computers (Once weekly class, per grade)
6th Grade Study Skills: Prepare students for Middle School by teaching organizational skills, time management, note-taking skills, study tasks, test-taking methods, and other strategies to become a successful learner. (Once weekly for one semester)
Assist in covering study halls and various other duties including lunch, recess, and dismissal.
Annual starting salary range: $33,500 - $36,500

The ideal candidate for this position is friendly, helpful, dependable, and nurturing. He or she will be responsible for assisting the classroom teacher in preparing materials, delivering small group instruction, supervision of students, and providing general support to the teacher. This is a part-time position for approximately 22 hours per week.
An ideal candidate would possess the following:
Background or coursework in education or a related field highly preferred
Classroom teaching experience or experience working with children
The ability to teach the Bible and integrate it into the various subject areas
Additional Responsibilities Include:
Assist in covering various duties including lunch, recess, and dismissal.
Pay range: $12 - $14 per hour

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic, creative, and passionate K-8 Art Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will foster a nurturing, Christ-centered environment where students from Kindergarten through 8th grade can explore their creativity, develop fine motor and technical skills, and build an appreciation for visual arts. This is a part-time position for approximately 10 hours per week. Each grade has Art class once per week, for a total of 9 class periods weekly.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum & Instruction:
Design and implement an engaging, age-appropriate visual arts curriculum for grades K-8 that integrates a biblical worldview.
Introduce students to a wide variety of media, including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and digital media.
Integrate art history, cultural appreciation, and contemporary art movements into practical, hands-on lessons.
An ideal candidate would possess the following qualifications:
Faith: A devoted and mature follower of Jesus Christ involved in a Bible-believing church
Education: A bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field.
Experience: Demonstrated experience with teaching is preferred, specifically within a Christian school environment.
Technical Skills: Knowledge of various art media, techniques, and safety protocols for material usage.
Additional respnsibilities may include:
Participate actively in staff meetings, professional development, and school community events (like Field Days or Open Houses).
Assist in covering some general duties such as lunch, recess, and dismissal
Starting annual salary range: $12,000 - $15,000 (depending on experience)
Tuition discount for child(ren) attending NCS.
