Growing up on the family farm near Womelsdorf, PA, Alan Kohr fondly recalls a favorite childhood memory of hunting pheasants and rabbits with his Dad and brothers. He embraced teaching as a career because it’s not boring.  He loves the fact that no two students or classes are ever alike!

His passion for Christ is evident in his chapel messages and in morning Circle Time when his rich voice rings out in praise.

Alan enjoys walking, running, biking, solving word puzzles and taking his bride of 28 years, Wendy, to Ruby Tuesdays where they enjoy eating their huge hamburgers.  You might also spy him at PSU soccer games and if there is ice cream around – well, look out as he admits that he has trouble restraining himself when ice cream is present!

Alan and Wendy have three children, however, their home seems to be an open door to all that need it – offering a home to international high school students and misplaced college students alike.
