Miss Shirley recently graduated from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and grew up in Monroeville, Pennsylvania, (about 15 miles outside of Pittsburgh) so of course she cheers for the STEELERS!

After participating as a camper in week long church camps every summer, Miss Shirley began volunteering when she went to middle school. She spent time volunteering as a counselor and eventually helped on the leadership planning team for the last five years for the same camp she attended as a kid. Throughout her time volunteering, Miss Shirley realized her calling was to become a teacher. She desires to build relationships with the NCS children, especially the middle school students. When she is not trying to create fun activities for lessons, she is usually getting lost in a Karen Kingsbury novel or some other good book. Miss Shirley also really enjoys scrapbooking, watching movies, baking, and spending time with her family and close friends.
